I have created these collages from these antique LIFE magazines. I purchased these magazines at Kudzu antique market in Decatur GA. It's an amazing place to visit. It is right next to the Dekalb Farmers Market (hint hint).
I purchased magazines from 1943, 1966, and 1971 and have had fun making collages and working with others (thanks Shivani and Andipandi) to come up with funny slogans. The ad campaign for Why Not Vintage is based around the name of the shop "Why not...?" and it correlates with images on the collage. It brings a question about going back and preserving goods that have proved their quality and are still fashionable to this day. I keep thinking about the message Eunice Walker, the owner wants to convey, a form of preserving and renewing.

In response to Sarah's comment - I juxtaposed the images as I felt were cohesive to each other. I did attempt to connect each images to make perfect sense, but collage leaves the spectator to their own interpretation. I have sacrificed a direct meaning in pictures for a visually aesthetic one. So you like Velvet and Plaid ? This pulls the spectator back to a focus. This image mainly represents antique furniture and jewelry. I didn't want to stray so far from what she collects. I want to keep that focus on Vintage clothing, Antique furniture, and Jewelry with each separated across three ads.I am still reworking the body type...
